Its impacts are much broader than it might seem at first glance. This is confirmed by the data and experiences of more than 26,000 people from across the country who take up the challenge of cycling, walking or jogging to work every year. The survey we conducted among them shows that none of them want to give up their sustainable mode of transport for the rest of the year. And that says something, don’t you think? What specifically does sustainable mobility benefit?
Prepare your body for the active season! With the May challenge Bike, walk or jog to work you will get moving! Regular exercise reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. The sooner we switch to sustainable transport, the better our cities will breathe. And if we don’t want to bake to death in the summer, we will have no choice in the end. During the May Challenge alone, we manage to save over 700 tons of CO2 every year throughout the Czech Republic, which is the same as how much 700 trees can absorb in 100 years! By participating in the challenge, we are literally buying time!
Nature and future generations will thank you.
With our challenges you will save! Traveling by car is not only stressful, but also uneconomical. An international research team that calculated the costs of owning and using a car came up with some truly breathtaking figures. If you want to be rich, drive sustainably at least in May. And then go on vacation, for example. Come and join us
73% of participants in the Bike, Walk or Jog to Work challenge have their entry fees paid by their employers. They know that people who commute actively take fewer sick days, have a positive attitude towards other challenges and are more team players. Supporting urban cycling pays off for companies! The Cycling Employers of the Year, such as the ÚJV Řež group, also know this. Join the challenge and take part in the competition for a title that is appreciated not only by employees, but also by business partners, customers or competitors.
Our current transportation habits shape the future of our children. If we instill in them that it is normal to travel actively and sustainably, they will most likely travel this way in their lives too. Mama taxis are no good for anyone! And after two years of the pandemic, not only adults but also children are missing movement. Join the Bike to Work, Walk or Jog challenge and change the mental attitude of our children.
What do you learn in your youth…
A hundred years ago, we slowly began to give our cities over to cars. It’s time to take them back! Active and sustainable transportation improves life in many ways and solves many of the problems cities are struggling with today. From the local economy, to a sense of community, to a healthier population. Come and travel with us on foot, by bike, by skate or by jog in May, try it out for yourself and help Czech cities improve their active transportation infrastructure.
Join thousands of people across the Czech Republic who are actively and sustainably commuting to work by bike, by foot or by jog throughout May as part of the Challenge to Cycle, Walk or Jog. You may see, as most of them have, that it is not only healthier, but also often faster and definitely more enjoyable. By participating in the challenge, which has been organized by the AutoMat association for 15 years, you will also help draw attention to the need for quality infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists in your city.
