About Bike to Work

The Bike To Work challenges organized by the AutoMat association aim to change the commuting habits of both individuals and organizations. Their flagship event is the May Challenge, which attracts the highest number of participants.

It also serves as an unconventional team-building activity (with 79% of participants having their entry fee covered by their employer). Companies and institutions thereby demonstrate social responsibility and concern for the environment.

Why do we organize the BikeTo Work challenges?

step 1

1. The goal of our challenges

Experience for yourself that commuting to and from work without a motor is not only environmentally friendly, but also enjoyable and beneficial for your physical and mental well-being.

step 2

2. We motivate

Since 2011, the AutoMat association has been encouraging residents to travel “under their own power” and urging politicians and officials to build safe infrastructure for walking and cycling.

step 3

3. Impacts

Over this time, our challenges have been embraced by hundreds of thousands of people across the country, with thousands of institutions, companies, and cities taking part.
