7 reasons why to accept our September Challenge

Sustainable transport as one of the solutions to the climate crisis for our cities. This is the main message of the European Mobility Week, which has been announced by the European Commission since 2002 in the third week of September. And on this occasion, we at AutoMat traditionally announce the September Challenge Bike to Work (or by foot or trot). Why is this the coolest thing you can do to start the school year? This year’s takes place between September 16 and 29, and registration is open now.

Registration to September Challenge Bike to Work

1. You extend your summer

The beginning of the school year does not necessarily mean the end of all summer pastimes and the beginning of a boring routine. Traveling to and from work on your own will give you a pleasant kick and turn the gray commute from point A to point B into an adventurous experience.

2. You will keep fit

The physique you developed during the summer holidays is worth it. You may no longer be swimming in the sea, climbing rocks or long hikes. But you don’t have to give up healthy exercise even in September. Self-propelled transportation is the easiest way to stay fit even after the end of the active sports season.

 3. You create a discussion

Whether among colleagues or members of your household, by participating in the challenge you will help draw attention to the issue of sustainable transport, pedestrian and cycling infrastructure and the need to change transport habits in our cities. Become an inspiration and positive motivation for those around you.

4. You will get rid of (not only) autumn depression

Shorter days and the slowly approaching winter never add much to anyone’s mood. But don’t let yourself get poisoned and use a walk or a ride as an opportunity for daily mental hygiene and increasing the level of the right hormones. Fresh air and the wind in your hair are powerful magicians.

5. You prepare the ground for May

The European Mobility Week, within which the September Challenge takes place, aims to make sustainable modes of transport visible. And you can bring them closer to your employer and prepare him for the fact that in May, as part of the challenge, there will be a nationwide competition for the Bicycle Employer of the Year. And that is a title that every modern company or organization is definitely worth.

6. You will gain the admiration of those around you

You will show others that you are not indifferent to climate change and that you care about the future of the entire planet. You will become an everyday hero, and your defined calf muscles will be the subject of numerous discussions in the company kitchen. In short, your popularity (and not only) within the work team will skyrocket.

7. You save money

And not only CO2 emissions and the environment, but also your own pocket. With both inflation and fuel prices on the rise, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much heavier your wallet will be after the September Challenge ends. Then, with a clear conscience, you can reward yourself with something pleasant or useful for sustainable movement (perhaps a nice cycling gadget).
