The one-week challenge takes place on the 13th-19th of January 2025. The January Challenge Bike to Work is aimed at individuals who are flirting with commuting to work “on their own” all year round. We agree with the saying: There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes. And if snow or weather conditions do not allow for safe cycling, walking always does.
You can transform your city for the better with your sustainable routes, thanks to the use of anonymized route data. In cooperation with cities, we can identify routes where cyclists and pedestrians actually travel, as well as places where the infrastructure does not meet the purposes of safe and pleasant movement in the city. The participants of the challenge can thus contribute to the development of safe and smooth non-motorized transport within our cities by their movement.
Register and fill in your web profile. In contrast to May Challenge Bike to Work, the January Challenge is intended for individuals and it is free (no fee). You can join from everywhere in the Czech Republic.
One week in January, ride a bike, scooter, in-lines, longboard, or walk or run to and from work. You can combine these modes of transport as you like. For example, on Monday and Wednesday, you can ride a bike, on Tuesday walk, on Thursday run, and on Friday get to work on a longboard.
Write down your journeys in your profile or via a mobile aplication.
Routes recorded via mobile aplication STRAVA, Cyclers and Do práce na kole will be used as basis for the analysis of traffic in the cities in order to improve the cycling infrastrukcture.
From all participants in the challenge who are subscribers to the Cyklonoviny newsletter on the day of the evaluation of the challenge (you can sign up for the subscription during registration or later in the account settings) and meet the percentage of regularity above 66, 6 %, we will draw winners who will receive entry fees for the entire team to May challenge Bike to Work 2025 and other material prizes.
