There’s no such thing as bad weather, only poorly chosen clothing.
With your sustainable trips, you can help make cities better. If snow or weather conditions make cycling unsafe, walking is always a reliable alternative.
The January to Work by Bike challenge is aimed at individuals who are considering commuting to work “under their own power” year-round. The one-week challenge is free and takes place from 12–18 January 2026. Registration opens on 29 December 2025.
Register and complete your online profile. The January challenge is free and, unlike the May Challenge, is intended for individuals only. You can take part from anywhere in the Czech Republic.
For one week in January, commute to and from work by bike, scooter, rollerblades, longboard, or on foot/run. You can freely combine these modes during the challenge. For example, you might bike on Monday and Wednesday, walk on Tuesday, run on Thursday, and arrive at work on a longboard on Friday. See the detailed rules of the January Challenge.
Record your trips in your profile or via a mobile app. Routes recorded through the STRAVA, Cyclers, and To Work by Bike mobile apps will be used as a basis for urban transport analysis to help improve cycling infrastructure.
Challenge participants who, on the day the results are announced, are subscribed to the Cyklonoviny – To Work by Bike newsletter and achieve a regularity rate above 66.6% will be entered into a prize draw. Winners will receive a voucher for participation in the May Challenge for their entire team.
