Information about this year’s price waves and the dates of dispatch of starting packages to be found here.
(Regularity, teams, organizations, competition rules)
You definitely don’t have to. If you don’t use a car in the city – thank you, the goal is achieved for us. But why do more and more people sign up for the Bike to Work Challenge every year and still pay for it? Here are some of the reasons people give us:
1. They enjoy it (teasing and heckling each other in the team, joint events, trips, breakfast, statistics, parties…)
2. They are happy with an original t-shirt that directly encourages them to get to know others
3. They feel part of a community with an active lifestyle
4. Participating in the challenge gives them motivation not to give up
5. They can win prizes and take advantage of all kinds of discount events or completely free events
6. They thus support AutoMat and subscribe to its idea of sustainable mobility in cities (similar to when you buy records of your favourite band or wear a badge of your favourite organization)
7. Using anonymized data about their routes, they want to participate in improving the cycling infrastructure in their city.
You can also learn more about the event in the Final Report 2022. And what is your reason?
Yes, it can be combined to taste. For each trip, there is an icon in the driving log to choose from.
How you got to work is indicated by the corresponding icon in your profile for each trip.
Yes. You just need to register at an address in the Czech Republic (the start package with a t-shirt will also be delivered to that address – unfortunately we do not send it abroad). For example, you can join an acquaintance – a colleague in the Czech Republic, join his team – and the t-shirt would thus arrive at his team’s address. You can then ride and record rides (and therefore also compete for prizes) anywhere.
On the days when you will not go to work, click the “no trip” box in the trip table (it will be displayed after the start of the challenge). These days are then not counted for the calculation of the percentage of regularity. If you are on vacation, use the “vacation” option. The advantage of “holiday” is that you can enter these trips in the system in advance (in the case of a longer vacation, you will not miss a trip, entries are only allowed in the system for 8 days retroactively).
At Bike to work, walk or jog, it’s not about whether you ride a bike. It is a question of whether you are cycling a route that you could otherwise normally do by car. (Would you go on a sports trip by car? – No.) Please be fair. Most participants honestly write down every trip to and from work, shopping, visiting, to school or from kindergarten (that is, trips around the city (or between cities), which is what it is all about, from the point of view of sustainable and ecological transport). And at the end of the month, they feel good (and often have slightly stronger calves.) Thank you for supporting the development of sustainable mobility.
Don’t worry, it’s just an appearance. The frequency is calculated according to the formula, where the numerator is the number of your actual rides/activities and the denominator is the number of all potential rides/activities for the whole month. So the denominator does not change, the numerator – and therefore the percentage of regularity – will increase with each ride. At the end of the month, your regularity will match reality and you won’t lose any percentage. To achieve 100% regularity, you must complete at least 26 non-motorized journeys or activities.
Yes. We support e-bikes – especially in hilly cities they can be a real helper.
The questionnaire will appear in the registration system during the challenge. We will let you know by notification in the system when the questionnaire can be filled out. For now, you can find out how your employer supports you in non-motorized transport.
The mode of transport is checked directly in the form in your profile, where rides are entered. For each day, it is possible to choose the appropriate means of transport.
You can also do it independently, the challenge is not intended primarily for employees. The starter package will arrive at the address you enter in the Branch field.
The challenge is for everyone, everyone can participate. You can also form a team within the family or from your friends and neighbors. Seniors can also participate. Students can join the challenge Bike to school, on foot or by jogging.
Yes. However, teams of one participant are not included in team competitions, so the main category “Regularity” will not apply to you. But know that you can invite absolutely anyone to the team (family, friends…), they don’t even have to go to the same branch. Realistically, they don’t even have to be from the same city (you would choose one city in common). You can also find a partner in the team in the Do práce na kole Facebook groups for individual cities.
(system, personal profile and password, recording of rides, results, etc.)
Also, watch the video on ways to record journeys (don’t forget to turn on the subtitles) as part of the Bike to Work challenge.
The table/calendar of rides will be displayed to you at the start of the challenge in your web profile.
Please try again a few more times (or wait a while), check if you are entering the correct email form (perhaps you have multiple email addresses) or check your spam folder. If neither of these works, email us.
It is possible to write down rides 8 days back, which means that, for example, on Thursday you can still write down rides from the previous Thursday, but not from Wednesday. Due to capacity reasons, we are not able to write down your rides back. They must be entered in the proper term.
You can add and divide them. E.g. you can divide multiple trips around the city – to work, shopping, visiting, going to and from school with children – into two trips, for example morning and afternoon. It’s more about getting the total kilometers and routes to fit if you’re entering them. And be careful, always try to fill in two boxes (arrows) per day in order to achieve the highest possible regularity.

If you don’t have a social login, it’s probably because you registered with an e-mail. It is also possible that you have multiple user profiles (in that case write to the helpdesk). Make sure you do it on the web and then use the same method for the app.
It may take up to 30 minutes for the results to update – this cannot be fixed, please be patient if anything is not right after an hour, please email us.
In the application, which you can always have at hand, you will see clear rankings of competitions within teams, companies and cities, so you can joke with colleagues and neighbors. The application will remind you, according to your settings, that you need to fill in the rides, but it will also alert you to other notifications from the system. It also provides all the necessary links to the registration system. The smooth and elegant connection with the Strava tracking application was unfortunately made impossible for us by the limitations of this application. However, the application also allows you to write down routes by manually filling in the number of km, or you can choose from already saved routes (for example, you just need to click on the map once on the website and then, if you keep driving the same route, you can choose an already saved route, top it up the next day and that’s it).
Directly in the application, you will find results that concern you in particular (my team, my company, my branch), if you want some other results, the link to the registration system is for that, where you can search for participants, companies, etc. You can also search on the website dopracenakole.cz by city and thus monitor, for example, from Cheb how they are doing in Karviná…
You can download the GPX record of the route via the Strava web interface (not in the application) – log in, find the correct route and then select Export in the menu (see how to). Then you have to go back to the registration system – enter the trip (calendar), mark which means of transport you have chosen and under the place to enter the number of km, select “Upload GPX file” in the menu, drag or click to upload the downloaded GPX file and then just select the day and direction there or back to record the ride.
Not necessarily. The application also allows you to write down routes by manually filling in the number of km, or you can choose from already saved routes (for example, you just need to click on the map once on the website and then, if you keep driving the same route, you can choose an already saved route, add her for the next day and that’s it).
Yes, it is possible. It does require installing Strava, but not its active use – Strava allows you to connect to many other tracking applications (AppleWatch, Garmin, Suunto, etc.) and as soon as you have a ride in Strava through this connection, you will automatically have them in our application as well. It might just take a little patience, depending on the tool you’re using. You can find out how to connect on the Strava website (in English).
Correctly. Exercise and minutes were a temporary pandemic measure and are no longer considered. Exercise is not linked to sustainable mobility, which is what the To work by bike, walk or jog challenge is all about. If you are at the home office, select the home office option in the system and it will be clear that you are not making any trips that day. Your stats will not drop. Thank you for your understanding :)
We always ship T-shirts at the end of a given sign-up wave, according to your size orders. The approval of your*your company* coordinator at the end of the wave is important. If he doesn’t approve you by the end of the wave, you move to the next one.
Everyone can check where their package is in the system in the Triko section, specifically here.
You can find everything about packages and T-shirts – delivery dates and collection methods (including possible changes to the delivery time) on the T-shirt page.
Unfortunately, we are unable to exchange t-shirt sizes due to capacity reasons.
We will definitely make an exchange if you run out of a different T-shirt size than the one you ordered. The t-shirt is a gift for the challenge, an accessory to the whole event, we do not operate an e-shop and therefore do not have the capacity to exchange sizes.
Tip: You can try to exchange the T-shirt with colleagues or with other participants of the event within the Facebook groups Bike to Work in your city or surroundings.
As part of the entry fee for the May challenge, you are entitled to choose only one product – a t-shirt, socks or neckerchief. We recommend choosing a T-shirt and ordering the other products separately from our e-shop. The distribution of starter packs takes place through different channels than orders from the e-shop and they cannot be combined.
Please refer to the manufacturer’s size charts when choosing. Complaints are unnecessarily lengthy, costly and unecological.
Good question! In our newsletters, we often send special offers from partners that you won’t find anywhere else.
1. In the participant profile, put “Change personal data” and at the bottom check “I want to receive news, information about events and invitations to the next years of the competition by e-mail”.
2. Subscribe to the newsletter via the form on the website here.
