1. By entering the route via an external mobile application (Strava, Cyclers, Na kole Praha)
2. By writing the route directly to your profile in the system
3. By entering the route using the Bike to Work mobile application (Android / iOS)
Trips i can be entered retroactively (8 days in the case of the May challenge, 2 days in the September challenge).
Video guide to recording journeys
To participate in the regularity category, simply entering the number of kilometers without indicating the route (where exactly you drove) also applies.
*) Due to the greater use of the home office mode, we have decided to allow home office registration this year as well (i.e. no travel). The system will then take this into account when calculating your regularity.
The fastest way is to use the mobile applications Cyclers or Na kole Prahou. They are easy to use: At the start of your ride, you start the app and at the finish line, simply send the recorded route to the Go to work by bike registration system (you can “pause” the app so that you don’t run out of time when, for example, you go to the post office in the middle of your ride). However, you must first connect the application to your Go to work by bike profile (it is done a little differently for each – see the instructions). If you use the STRAVA app, just write #dpnktam and #dpnkzpet in the ride name.
Notice for runners and walkers: If you use the Cyclers cycling app or Na kole Praha to upload your route, change the driving method from “Bike” to “Walk/Run” after sending the route in your web profile.
Instructions for connecting external applications with Bike to Work
Still resisting smartphones or have another favorite app? It doesn’t matter, you can also fill in your trips in your web profile (system). How to do it?
1) Select the type of your activity
Choose the icon corresponding to your activity:
Bicycle icon – you rode a bicycle, scooter, skateboard.
Run/Wheelchair icon – you walked, ran or rode in a wheelchair.
House icon – do you work from home and the situation doesn’t allow you to go out and you don’t want to worsen your regularity? That’s what this icon is for.
icons Train/Bus and Car – you made the journey in another way, e.g. by train, public transport, car, etc. – this journey is not included in your evaluation
Parasol icon – select if you have not gone anywhere, e.g. due to vacation (can be planned and entered in advance), illness, etc. (this break will not affect your regularity).
2) Enter the route taken
For non-motorized movements, first select how you want to enter the route, then enter the time/kilometers/route. The input options are:
manually (subsequently enter the number of kilometers in the window)
by drawing on the map (draw your route and the distance will be calculated by itself)
by uploading a GPX file from any application that can record routes and export them – e.g. Garmin, Endomondo and others
by copying some of your past paths
You do not enter any distance or route for other means of transport, illness or vacation.
3) Choose the day of the trip
Match the selected route to a specific day and direction of travel using the corresponding arrows.
In the case of other means of transport, illness or vacation, just click on a specific day and the arrow.
Do not look for the save button, the routes are saved automatically after entering them.
If you’ve been participating in Bike to Work for more than 3 years, you’re certainly familiar with this original registration method.
1) Select the mode of transport on the relevant day
On any given day, you see two buttons (originally designed for getting to and from work).
Bike button – you rode a bike, scooter, skateboard, etc.
button On foot – you traveled on your own, during or in a wheelchair
Home activity button – do you work from home and the situation does not allow you to go out and you do not want to worsen your regularity? That’s what this button is for.
buttons Car and Public transport – you made the trip in another way, e.g. by train, public transport, car, taxi, etc. – this trip is not counted in your evaluation
text No trip – you did not make the trip at all, e.g. due to vacation (can be planned in advance), illness, etc. (this break will not affect your regularity).
2) Route entry
Manually enter the number of kilometers you have ridden/walked.
Alternatively, you can enter the route on the map or by uploading a GPX file.
Don’t forget to click the Save Rides button to save.
Trips can also be recorded using our own Bike to Work app, developed for us at Ackee. The app includes:
clear rankings of competitions within teams, companies and cities
simple entry of trips using already saved routes and manual entry of the number of km
trip log reminder (notification)
other notifications and warnings from the system
more user-friendly environment
We believe that the application is clear and simple, and guides you through the functions itself. However, if you still have questions about its use, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). If you do not find an answer in the FAQ, or if you have a technical problem with the application, please write us to kontakt@dopracenakole.cz.
The app is available for free for Android on Google Play and for iOS on the App Store
